Learn how to make glass beads!

Sue Lewis

Hello!  My name is Sue Lewis and I have been making beads, or "lampworking", for more than 10 years!  After quitting the corporate world I began to work on the home front and found time to pursue something more creative, and began making beads.

So, in between raising my kids I started studying the art of lampwork bead making, and have been enamoured with it ever since!  I used to sneak out into my garage at nap time and make beads.  I have since moved out of the garage into a beautiful studio where I teach classes, make beads for jewelry artists, my website, ebay  and create finished pieces for a local gallery.

It is so much FUN to use a torch to melt those gorgeous colors of glass into works of art.

Anyway, after a couple of years of making beads and throwing them into a coffee can, my husband said, "Hey Sue, why don't you try selling some of those on eBay?"  Guess what, I did, and I have made thousands and thousands of dollars from something I actually enjoy (my screen name there is Beads4babes - check out my Powerseller rating)!

I also learned how to make jewelry
out of the beads I made!

SO MUCH FUN!  People actually started commenting on the jewelry I wear, and I love to say with pride, "I MADE IT MYSELF!"  The really fun part about this is since then my work has been in several galleries around Arizona.

In my opinion, making glass beads is so much more fun than other types of art, because it is WEARABLE, and you can give it away and people actually WANT IT!

Of course you can sell it too; I love it when the local gallery here in Prescott, AZ calls me to tell me one of my pieces has sold!  It's exciting!  The jewelry I made above sold for $125!  I have about $15 invested in the materials for this set of beads  (silver findings, crystals, and raw glass).  The rest of it was done by my own creative power, and lots of time on the torch learning how to control the glass.

I love teaching others how to make glass beads!

focal beadMaking money though is not what this site is about - it is about teaching others this WONDERFUL ART!  A few years ago I started giving classes which fill up really quickly, and I can only really teach a few people at a time because of the nature of this art - it's a little difficult to teach a crowd with torches and melted glass and temperatures around 1500 degrees.  So I decided to write this ebook full of safety measures, workshop setup, product recommendations, step by step instructions and tons of pictures to help you get into making glass beads!

Note: I don't make any money off of the products I recommend in this book - this is a completely honest assessment from one artist to another of what tools to use, and step by step instructions for making beautiful handmade lampwork glass beads!

I surely wish there was something like this ebook around when I was just starting out, would of saved me hours of mistakes.  The book is what I teach in an 8 hohot torchur class that I charge $150 for -- instead you can buy this e-book and have money left to still buy a torch!  In addition the sources for material will be very helpful in saving money.  My goal is to help you light the torch and get past the first basic beads.

When you download this ebook, you'll get a 30 page PDF file that shows you exactly what you need to do.  Why not a regular paperback book?  Because I can put links in the PDF file that bring you right to the products you'll need to get started right away.  I've already done the research and made the mistakes - now you can benefit from hundreds of hours my time and energy!
